STEPHANIE BISHOP

Stephanie Bishop is the bestselling, award-winning author of four novels. Her most recent, The Anniversary, was shortlisted for The Age Book of the Year and longlisted for both the Stella Prize and the Notabene Prize. Her previous novels are Man Out of Time, The Other Side of the World, and The Singing.

Bishop's fiction has received widespread international acclaim, has been translated into six languages, and optioned for film. Her work has earned numerous honours, including the Readings Prize for New Australian Writing and the Literary Fiction Book of the Year Award, and has been shortlisted for the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards and the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction, as well as longlisted for the Stella Prize. In 2006, she was named one of The Sydney Morning Herald's Best Young Novelists.

A widely published critic and essayist, Bishop's writing has appeared in the London Review of Books, the Times Literary Supplement, and The Guardian, among other publications. She has held fellowships at Yaddo, Tenjinyama Art Studio, Himachal Pradesh University, and the University of Oxford, where she was a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Life Writing. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and is Professor of Creative Writing at UEA, where she teaches on the MA in Prose. Her fifth novel, The Host, is forthcoming.
